Pictures worth a thousand words…

Photos from our morning walk. This is why people can stand all the rain… It’s quite a special place, this city in the rainforest.

Max and I went out for a lovely walkabout in the ’hood this morning, and I was noticing all these beautiful green things…
mostly moss.

as moss is wont to do.

He was appreciating all the luscious smells: fresh grass, hedges, fallen pine needles, mud, puddles… probably the footsteps of other dogs along the way.

The first thing I noticed was this amazing moss-covered tree surrounded by a lawn so green my eyes ached.

This inspired playhouse is built around the trunk of a tall pine tree. What a fun thing for a kid to have!

Diana and Jim’s sweet home. I’ve been enjoying my week of rest here with my friends. Their yard is totally fenced so the dogs can be safely outside.

When we returned, Diana was making a fresh juice drink with apples, beets, carrots, kale, celery, and ginger:

Max was all about helping:

I’ve been training him to be “away” from the counters and food prep, but had to snap this adorable pic before I gave him the command!

The resulting “juice” was actually quite a mouthful! This machine, called a Ninja, is like a super blender on steroids! It has three sets of blender blades on a tall shaft in the center of the glass container, and it makes a juice with very fine pulp. Not my favorite texture, but it tasted delicious and we both felt like it was one healthy glass of goodness. A fresh green drink to go with all that greenness out the window!
