My new camera arrived!

I ordered a digital Canon EOS Rebel the other day – and it just arrived! I’ve plugged the battery in to charge, and can’t wait to give this baby a whirl.

I’ve had a Canon EOS film camera since the late 80s, and am happy that my telephoto lens will work on the new camera. One thing I noticed is that the new lens has image stabilization that the old one doesn’t… h-h-m-m-m. Will this be a problem? Time will tell.

  1. Nice look to the blog! I can’t wait to see your posts from the road! I will be interested to hear if your old lens presents image stabilization problems with the new camera, as Canon chose to build IS into lenses and not the body. Good luck!

Thanks for the comments. I’m planning to post fairly regularly about our preparations. Once we are on the road, it will depend on availability of an internet connection – but with all good luck there will be daily updates from the road.
